Officers and members of the Gays United for Peace and Solidarity Incorporated, an organisation of the Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgenders in Lanao provinces has joined forces with well-meaning members of the civil society organisations in providing relief and rehabilitation of internally-displaced people in various evacuation centers.

GUPSies volunteered their time and services in packing food and non-food items that were distributed to various evacuation centers in the coastal municipalities affected by the August 18 MILF attack.  GUPSies also provided their expertise in the trauma healing activities in various schools and evacuation centers where people are currently traumatized by the recent atrocities.

As a people’s organisation, GUPS Incorportated is recognized by the civil society organisations in Lanao and is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. GUPS Inc. is established to address issues of marginalisation and discrimination of the Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, and Transgenders in Lanao areas. It hopes to empower the LGBT community in this part of the country.
